About Major Events International

Major Events International (MEI) is a specialist consultancy providing support to, and an interface between, major sports competition organisers, International Federations, Host Cities and expert suppliers to this iconic and high-profile market. The delivery model includes identifying their needs, developing solutions to support them drawing on MEI core propositions, tailored consultancy or identify partners managed by MEI. MEI is opening a network of international offices and this role is based in Lausanne but covers on all international federations regardless of geographic location.

Role Key Deliverables

  • International Federation & Host City liaison and forming new relationships via office calls or other opportunities to engage
  • Key account management for Host Cities or Commercial companies clients with an interest in International Federation engagement
  • New business development aligned to MEI business objectives
  • Proposals and Presentations and rigorous follow up

Skills required for role

  • Candidate must be highly organised, be able to multi-task and have strong written and verbal skills and be able to present
  • Credible in terms of perception of senior stakeholders with the ability to clearly communicate and follow up on post meeting actions
  • Commercially strong and be able to explain the value delivered by MEI to attract Federation engagement
  • Business develop MEI propositions and open up new accounts
  • In-country management of visiting MEI clients seeking to engage with International Federations
  • Understanding of the Sports market and sport structures

Place of Employment

  • Working from home in Lausanne in the short term
  • Client offices or MEI offices once open in Lausanne
  • Some time spent at the MEI office in London
  • Some international travel

Ways of Working

Hours of work 10.00- 18.00 EST with potential for flexible or part time working in the short-term


CHF 45,000 variable depending on experience plus commission
