To support our Legal Division, FIFA is looking to recruit a proactive and service-oriented person with the ability to work in a cross-divisional team as a:

Senior Legal Counsel Events

Your duties

  • Drafting and further legal assistance for agreements and further arrangements in relation to accommodation and tour operator solutions for FIFA Events and activities
  • Drafting and further legal assistance for agreements and further arrangements in relation to the ticketing and hospitality operations for FIFA Events
  • Drafting and further legal assistance in relation to Bidding & Hosting Agreements for FIFA Events and further event-related services
  • Assisting with sponsoring and licensing agreements
  • General legal service support
  • Assistance with continuing development of FIFA Competitions Regulations or further guidelines and regulations of FIFA
  • Guidance to other team members, including review of their work and formation of junior counsels

 

Our requirements

  • Fully qualified to practise law (registered on the roll/admitted to the bar of the relevant jurisdiction and completed academic and practical training)
  • 6-8 years of legal practice PQE
  • Minimum 4 years of legal and/or commercial practice “on the job” in the events, accommodation/tourism or ticketing/hospitality industry or a reputable law firm engaged in such industry; on-site experience at a major sporting event is a plus
  • Fluent in English, other FIFA languages (German, French, Spanish) would be an advantage
  • Excellent negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to set and adhere to priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or within a team on a wide variety of projects
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Open-minded team player with affinity for various cultural sensitivities
  • Ability to mentor, guide and assist more junior members of the team
